NUUSBRIEF: SEPTEMBER 2017

NEWSLETTER: SEPTEMBER 2017

Bi-annual feedback meeting: This annual meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 11 October at 18:30 in the Arend meeting room. Come and listen to the feedback of events and projects that took place over the past year. The budget for 2018 will also be presented at the meeting.

Bargain corner: The proshop currently offers a lot of clothing at cost price. Visit the store and ask them to point out the products that are on special offer. Please support us.

Tree Fund: We would like to thank each member and visitor for your support during the last month’s fundraising for our tree fund. A beautiful amount of R18 000 was collected. The club will now double the amount and we will buy a lot of indigenous trees and plant it as soon as possible.

Goodbye: Albert Cawood, one of our professional assistants, will leave us soon. Thank you for your contribution over the last few years to make the club a success. The club wishes you the best of luck with your career.

Saturday competitions: The committee has decided that we will in the future also offer meat on certain Saturdays as prize money. It will be announced by the proshop on the day it takes place.

Waterkloof vs Skukuza: The annual away game took place this past weekend. We unfortunately lost the game – perhaps the shock of the Bok’s defeat was just too much to process. Congratulations to Skukuza who won 2017.

Caddy uniforms: The committee is considering selling advertising space on the caddy uniforms. This will help companies to advertise their product and assist the club to dress the caddies decently. If you would like to participate contact the office and we will contact you later for more detail.

Restaurant: The committee has approved the opening of a full restaurant on a limited basis and within the constraints of the existing infrastructure. This is something that will grow over time and must not interfere with our core business, namely golf.

Spring program: The hollowtine and top-fertilization projects have been completed and the result is already visible. We hope to get rain soon and that our course will be as beautiful as we like it. We appeal to all our members and visitors to scrupulously repair pitch marks on greens and divots on fairways.
